On Thursday, June 20, we attended the second annual ceremony for The Deal Awards. During a busy and complex year of deal-making, AMG provided strategic communications counsel for Deal of the Year nominees in both the Financial Services and Private Equity categories. We were also a top contender for Public Relations Firm of the Year. We were delighted to be on hand when our client SunTrust won for Financial Services Deal of the Year.
Announced on February 7, 2019, SunTrust’s $66 billion merger of equals with BB&T represented the largest banking transaction since the financial crisis. Our mission was to help ensure that all internal and external audiences understood and supported the combination. The messages we developed focused on strong cultural alignment, leading financial and operating metrics, increased profitability and scale to drive new innovations and revenue growth through complementary businesses and expected cost synergies.
