Who We Are
Michael Hotra, Managing Director, provides award-winning counsel to clients communicating around public affairs issues and opportunities in Washington, D.C. and in the states.
He has significant experience representing clients requiring strategic public affairs expertise related to mergers and acquisitions as well as high-profile Congressional testimony. He has conceived and executed integrated advocacy campaigns for industry coalitions facing existential political, legislative and regulatory challenges and opportunities.
In addition to his public affairs and issue advocacy background, Mike has significant experience representing clients in high profile litigation and government investigations. In the area of crisis communications, he advises clients on how to prepare for crises, mitigate risk and rebuild reputations. He has been dispatched on numerous occasions to incident scenes for protracted deployments.
Prior to joining Abernathy MacGregor, Mike served as vice president of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA.) Before joining PhRMA he served as deputy managing director of a Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firm. Earlier in his career, he was an advocate for legal reform at the federal and state levels.
