We are excited to announce that Dan Scorpio has been promoted to Managing Director effective September 1, 2020. Based in Chicago, Dan joined the firm in 2015 and has quickly ascended to become a key leader working on a variety of assignments while helping build on the firm’s long-held strength in the Midwest. He embodies the discerning, collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit that defines Abernathy MacGregor.
“Dan is unflappable, insightful and versatile,” said Tom Johnson, CEO of Abernathy MacGregor. “He excels in every aspect of our work, from leading high-profile M&A assignments to counseling Fortune 500 companies on reputational matters, to helping private equity firms and innovative family offices build best-in-class communications programs, to guiding leadership teams through the challenges of restructuring and crises. He has worked on some of the most complicated and sensitive client matters for our firm, helping deliver results that support clients’ business objectives and build value for the long term.”
Abernathy counsels companies on effective stakeholder communications in today’s highly complex, dynamic and interconnected world. The firm continues to expand its offerings to meet clients’ changing needs as business, political and social issues converge. In the last two years the firm has added expertise and launched new practice areas, with key hires in public affairs, research and corporate governance. This growth builds on the firm’s established 35-year reputation as a strategic communications advisor in critical moments for CEOs, board directors and senior executives.
“In a world of uncertainty, communications continues to create tangible value,” continued Johnson. “We are proud to have such talented individuals across our company managing increasingly challenging and high stakes matters on behalf of our clients, and we look forward to continuing to engage with and support clients on a range of consequential work during these volatile times and beyond.”
