We are excited to announce that Eileen R. Cohen, an expert in corporate governance and shareholder engagement, has joined Abernathy MacGregor as a Senior Counselor. Ms. Cohen most recently served as a Managing Director at JP Morgan Asset Management, where she was the Chair of the North America Governance Committee, leading corporate engagement activities on behalf of the firm’s clients.
“Eileen has earned wide respect for her expertise in shareholder engagement and corporate governance through her work at some of the world’s leading investment managers,” said Tom Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Abernathy MacGregor. “As institutional investors place a greater premium on sound governance practices, and reputational risk is increasingly recognized as a core driver of corporate valuation, the Abernathy MacGregor team is often called upon to advise our clients on matters such as enterprise risk management, succession planning, sustainability, diversity and compensation, all areas in which Eileen will contribute her considerable expertise for the benefit of our clients. In addition to her core focus on governance, Eileen also brings a wealth of experience in investment consulting, portfolio management and financial communications, which we believe will be beneficial to both our existing client base and new clients.”
“Increasingly vocal shareholders have transformed the relationship between companies and their investors,” said Ms. Cohen. “Companies and boards today need to more proactively tell their story and truly engage with their shareholders, which has made effective communications more vital than ever. Abernathy MacGregor is synonymous with providing considered and creative insights to companies facing transformation, challenge and opportunity. I look forward to joining this talented team and putting my skills to work for the benefit of AMG’s current and future clients.”
